Rams43 Edit: I'm kinda reluctant to spend a premium pick on Sidney Jones after his injury. Not because I resent having to wait a year to see him on the field. Rather, because serious Achilles injuries can rob a person (much less an NFL player) of full return of former explosion in movement. It's possible that Jones may never regain his former elite CB status. I mean, very very possible. Too many other quality CB's will be sitting there with our 3rd rounder. Why take a huge one year risk when the future is now?[/quote]
---- I can't disagree with your thought process. It's risky, but I think odds are the Joyner moving to FS, Tru staying at one outside spot, there will be an open battle for the other outside spot and you can draft a guy like Elder in the latter rounds to come in play the slot corner position right now. Hopefully, this has you solid at your DB positions for this year and if Sidney Jones can't come back, you can look to improve your CBs in next year's draft. It's not a super premium pick to take the risk on but I hear ya, they could possibly get a for sure CB, albeit with less upside instead of taking the risk.Edited 2 time(s).
