Some camp reporters have said that Mannion possesses the strongest arm of the 3 QB's. I was kinda surprised to read that, myself.by Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteSunTzu_vs_Camus It's appropriate to do that when yer gonna get the snot knocked out of you... otherwise, yes hands catching is the rule!!! Granted, it's always a tougher catch for a WR when he knows he's about to get hit, Sun. Then again, such is the life of an NFL WR, lol. But I've gotta respectfully disagree with you about this "catch". Trying to secure the ball after itby Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteSunTzu_vs_Camus The QB has done his job and the WR must do his. The WR about top get blown up???? Whatcha think the QB sees in his periphery as he lets the ball go?..... a DL coming to break his ribs! A QB must stand tough/take the shot he knows is coming and make the throw .... and the WR has to man up and take the hit after he catches it! QuoteRockRam Going by his history with the Rams, I think what we'll see is: DBs 10 Gaines, Hill, Roberson, Tru J, Joyner, Alexander, McDonald, Davis, Sensebaugh, ? LBs 6 Forest, Hagen, Lynch, Akers, Ogletree, Barron DLs 8 Longacre, Westbrooks, Sims, Hayes, Thomas, Brockers, Donald, Quinn QBs 3 Goff, Keenum, Mannion RBs 4by Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com
Just a few, I think. Such is the talent level of our roster. And trading away premium picks didn't help. And yet, despite all, I see three. Maybe four depending on how one defines "starter". Goff. Might be opening day. Maybe a few games into the season. But surely by mid season, don't you think? Higbee. Clearly our pass catching TE of the future. Gonna be lots of 2 TE sets, ofby Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotedzrams QuoteLMU93 I haven't done the roster numbers recently but I think they'll keep 9 DL. If Longacre keeps it up he's in and could be an heir to Sims eventually. I think we'll see more from Easley and between him and Coples he's more likely to stick in my opinion. That kind of interior pass rush ability isn't common. He could really thrive as a rotation guy on passing downs. If Easlby Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteSoCalRAMatic I give Goff an incomplete. Our guys didn't block well enough or catch his passable a to grade his performance. Sometimes stats don't tell the whole story. I loved the one throw down field. He has a very strong arm and that was a deep strike. Glad he was really hurt and look forward to his second try. Mannion looked very good. And Keenum played well enough to keep the status quby Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com
And in no particular order, btw. QB. Keenum or Goff to start? Can Mannion justify a roster spot? All 3 are looking good, so far. Maybe even quite a bit better than expected after 1 preseason game. RB. Will Mason be missed? Cunningham, Brown, and Green have pretty much answered THAT question. LOT. Is GRob gonna look like at least an average player there? Jury still out, but I'm encouragedby Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotemax Who is going to beat him out for a roster spot? Britt, Tavon, Cooper are locks. Quick and Marquez are competition for Spruce. The Rams probably keep at least 6 WRs, so I see a spot for him. I think they try to stash a couple of the other rookies on the PS. Gotta see a lot more from Thomas and Williams, though. Quote9er8er QuoteRams43 All due respect, 9er8er, but are you saying that you don't perceive that they've done a good job stocking the team with talent? TBH, your whole first paragraph leaves me speechless. I wouldn't even know where to begin unraveling it. Lol. Has nothing to do with my "perceptions." I'm not relying on that, I'm relying on the objective reality. And yes, unravby Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteJamesJM is about to relinquish the top spot, but I do agree that Higbee may be all he's been touted to be by many on this board. - JamesJM Kendricks will have little to say about it, James. Higbee can make plays that Kendricks simply can't. Much as Goff can throw passes that Keenum simply can't.by Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com
Quote9er8er There is no separating the two when it comes to personnel decisions. Snead does what Fisher wants. I personally don't get the perception that they've done a good job stocking the team with talent. I think they've been incredibly inefficient in their drafting strategies and their trades and free agent signings have been a black-hole of failure. QuoteDJ_Ram Thanks I will give that a shot when the season kicks off. Be advised, DJ, that if the game you wish to watch is in "your televised" area, your ST broadcast of that particular game will be blacked out. If THOSE WR's thought the juggs machines would help their game, then what's keeping our WR's from doing it? Who said our WR's aren't using the jugs machines? Maybe they are using them, dz. Call me old fashioned. But isn't the #1 job of a WR to get open and catch the ball? What good is height or blazing straight line speed if the WR doesn't catch a ball? Especially if the ball hits him in his hands? Austin, Cooper, and Thomas had 5 drops between them in brief appearances. That's not just unacceptable, it's terrible. Groh has his work cut out for him, that's for sure. Warby Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com
I believe that Fisher is serious about giving Goff some snaps with the 1's. But I suspect that that will come after Keenum has had his necessary snaps already. Then Fisher can keep his starters in for a series or two with Goff before giving them the rest of the day off. Depending on what Fisher sees, he might keep Goff in there in the 3rd qtr with the two's.by Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com

You raise a very good point, Mama. The Coliseum is not designed to maximize crowd noise. Now, perhaps that "ceiling" design on the new stadium might enhance crowd noise? I dunno. But the players seeing 80k to 90k fans in the seats has gotta be highly motivating, I'm sure.by Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteJamesJM it's not him 'mis-reading' or 'overplaying'... it's that when he read the receiver FINE and then not having the physical skills to complete the play. And YES, he did cover well yesterday, at times. Our 3rd stringers were better than the Cowboys' 3rd stringers, James. That's like getting a trophy for being the tallest midget, at least to me. Their 1's beat our 1's 24-7 in the first half. Their rookie QB played a half and looked like a 10 year veteran, or a #1 overall pick at the very least. Ours played 9:45 and looked like a 4th rounder. QuoteSaguaro The QB can go ahead and look downfield for his other options knowing that Spruce will be open and catch the ball if he needs to go underneath. Yup, Sag. WR's with good hands were in very short supply vs the Cowboys, huh?by Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteJamesJM yeah, I haven't mentioned Ogletree...whom I felt 'could' step in at MLB. I didn't really notice him during the game... and that's not a 'good' thing. - JamesJM I don't think Ogletree took very many snaps, James. In fact, when I looked for him early on I saw Hager in there, already. I thought maybe Ogletree had been hurt, TBH, because he was gone so quickly. Odd to take hiby Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com

QuoteRams_81 Another head scratcher on how he is so highly rated, by many Rams fans. While I disagree that he will be out of the game altogether, I see him as a middle of pack 2nd stringer at best. Others seem to hold him in much higher regard and I don't understand the basis as I don't see physical potential, nor do I see results. Just to be fair, 81... We were clearly watching the same game, Alyo. Your impression of Sensabaugh's play was more "forgiving" than mine, I guess. But we've gotta tip our hat to Prescott for his play, too. He was amazing. I agree about Gaines. In with the 3's in the late 4th quarter? WTH? I might add J Washington and M Jordan to Troy Hill as pleasant surprises. QuoteGreatRamNTheSky I don't recall his number being called the rest of the night. Lets not quit on Quick. He has talent. Grits True, Grits. I had hoped to see more targets for Williams, too. QuoteJamesJM about 'showcasing' Mannion... but I'm not going to like losing this guy. I don't think there is any way the Ram's can hang onto him, however, not beyond this year. Not because of 'contract' necessarily, (I don't know how his contract reads), but because I think they'll get an offer they can't refuse. And there is NO chance whatsoever the Ram's will decide it's Mannion over Gofby Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com
Quick had one catch for 13 yards, Grits. Let's don't get carried away here. He's gonna have to pick it up a helluva lot if he wants to beat out some of these UDFA's, much less Cooper and Thomas. Both of whom need to pick it up as well.by Rams43 - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotelaram for the mad hustle you showed on the Goff pick to not only catch the defender but strip him.
