after watching McCaffrey this week. I still have a suspicion that McVay and Wade have analytics that show that stopping the run is not that important to creating wins. It just so often seems that they don't seem too worried about it, and btw, we are still winning a lot of games.by PeoriaRa - RamsFootballFans.com

First my hopes The defense plays like the defense we saw in the playoffs The offense plays like the offense we saw in the first 8 games last year McVay learns from his mistakes last year and continues to grow as a coach and as a playcaller Goff does what he has done for the last 7 years, and improves from one year to the next Noteboom and Allen play well. They presumably made it in time, a good thing given that McVay already was in full-blown game-planning mode for Sunday’s season opener at Carolina. A red area under McVay’s neck always is the tell-tale sign he’s all business, and on Monday it burned so bright it nearly melted a hole in the wall. Actually, one of the better articles that I read showed a camera angle where one ref looks at the other and looks like he is saying "bang bang." Bang-bang is when the ball is knocked loose just as the catch is being completed. Back in 2016 there was a lot of discussion about it and officials were instructed to treat bang-bang plays as incomplete. When you watch the play in realby PeoriaRa - RamsFootballFans.com
I think the defense comes to play this year. Still struggles with the run, but not enough for the opposing team to score a lot of points.by PeoriaRa - RamsFootballFans.com
I would love to see the look on Payton's stupid face if the rule he pushed through came back to bite him in the derriere against the Rams.by PeoriaRa - RamsFootballFans.com
this offseason, and I am chomping at the bit to meet them again. Here is what I would like to see happen: 1. We beat them decisively in Week 2, by at least 10 points but more would be better 2. That game is the difference between them getting the wild card or not and missing the playoffs or 1. We beat them decisively in Week 2, by at least 10 points but more would be better 2. That's a fair question. Might have taken him over either Rapp or Henderson. Rapp looks great so far - so no beef with the actual pick - but we are stouter in the secondary than we are at pass rusher. Henderson I think we might have been able to get a bit later and again, not sure the need was as high at RB as at pass rusher. Just below Quinnen WIliams at #25 on the list and lauded for his run stopping prowess. Of course, this is a very small sample size with players facing a variety of mostly 2nd, 3rd and no-way stringers rather than other starters. I am disappointed though, that we let the Cheatriots get Chase Winovich. Lots of people here had him pegged as a future star.by PeoriaRa - RamsFootballFans.com
I know that his stats have been pretty decent, but has anyone besides me thought that he just threw a very labored and not very accurate pass? I have only seen parts of 2 preseason games, but in those games I though Wolford looked much better than Allen. Allen has an ungainly throwing motion, seems to take much longer than Goff or Wolford to wind up and throw, and his accuracy is subpar. I sby PeoriaRa - RamsFootballFans.com
Everyone talks about 16 vs 18 but no one seems to talk about 17. Here is my proposal for what I would like to see: 2 Game preseason (enough for the rooks and bubble players to show their stuff) 17 regular season games ( one more to make the owners and fans like me happy) 2 byes during the regular season (this gives players one more chance to rest and heal up, plus makes the full regular seaby PeoriaRa - RamsFootballFans.com
Really like some of the writing at this site. This is the section specifically about the Rams but you should read the whole article. Los Angeles Rams: This One Goes to 11 His team’s three-point Super Bowl dud notwithstanding, McVay is unquestionably one of the league’s foremost offensive geniuses. Bit of a slow news day, how about we come up with some fun scenari0s that could happen in 2019, but probably won't. I'll get us started: Goff goes down with late season injury, Rams rally around Black Bortles and play good football, winning Super Bowl. Aaron Donald scores 6 touchdowns, 2 on defense and 4 lined up in a 2 RB formation in goal line situations.by PeoriaRa - RamsFootballFans.com
I bet he signs a really good FA contract somewhere when the time comes. He made some really great plays last year when Kupp was out and still is nowhere near his ceiling, I suspect.by PeoriaRa - RamsFootballFans.com
I have no evidence to support this - just a theory. Obviously a team cannot be superior in every area - not with a salary cap. I have wondered over recent years if the analytics just show that success running does not correlate closely with winning - and our brain trust has decided to optimize the team against the pass at the cost of stopping the run. Because the analytics show that stoppinby PeoriaRa - RamsFootballFans.com
Remove two preseason games, replace them with one additional real game and one additional bye week. That's what I want. A compromise and less meaningless preseason, plus a bit more time to heal up midseason.by PeoriaRa - RamsFootballFans.com
I am rewatching as many of last year's games as possible. A surprising number of full NFL games are available on Youtube, sometimes in condensed form. So far I have watched about half of 2018. Now I may have just hit bad luck, but in nearly every game I have watched Jo Jo has made a boneheaded decision that lost us yards or on one occasion, lost us the ball. It used to be that DT was one of the positions that struggled to do well early in the NFL. Not sure if this is still the case, but I think we need to temper expectations for GG early on.by PeoriaRa - RamsFootballFans.com
Which player would it be? I am going to go with Kevin Carter. In his prime, when he was young and his attitude was good, he was a monster on the edge and I think a great edge rusher would be a game-changing addition to our current roster. Another good choice would be Orlando Pace, although Whitworth is a strength not a weakness right now. Myles Simmons was asked this on the Rams mailbby PeoriaRa - RamsFootballFans.com
