this offseason, and I am chomping at the bit to meet them again.
Here is what I would like to see happen:
1. We beat them decisively in Week 2, by at least 10 points but more would be better
2. That game is the difference between them getting the wild card or not and missing the playoffs
or
1. We beat them decisively in Week 2, by at least 10 points but more would be better
2. We play them again in the playoffs and beat them by even more.
I don't have anything against Brees personally, but Payton is a tool and their fans are megawhiners.
They owned that NFC Championship game and choked it away. Pure and simple. A mature coach would have owned that instead of feeding into the frenzy the way he did. A mature coach would have asked all the idiots filing lawsuits to put their money and time into something more positive for the community.
A mature coach would have said "we had multiple chances to win that game after the missed call and we failed to convert them. Every game has a few missed calls - it is part of the game. Next year we will come back and win so decisively that one call cannot derail us. Congratulations to the Rams on playing a great game. We look forward to more great games in the future against a great team."
My theory is that the Saints will have spent the offseason feeling sorry for themselves instead of focusing on working harder and that they may have a letdown this season in a tough division and a tough conference.
