QuotePeoriaRa A few writers have referred to the rams current roster as a "dream team" a la the Philadelphia Eagles in recent past. Now, I don't like that, and I hope that the team doesn't start believing it. Confidence is good, arrogance is dangerous. That being said, I believe that it may be true that the Rams have assembled a dream team, just not the one that everyone is lookingby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Great write up. I think the ROLB worries are overblown but we need something to worry about. Agree a healthy line and Goff are key. Really tough schedule 11-5 should still be doable. Thanks for the thoughtful analysis.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com

Quotezn QuoteRamBill ANALYSIS: Rams Initial 53-Man Roster On draft picks making the team. It's not unusual for the majority of picks to make a team in year 1. In 2012, out of 10 picks, 2 didn't make the team that year. Now 4 are still in the league, which is 40%...and that's pretty good drafting. In 2014, out of 11, 3 didn;t make the team that year. Now 4 are still in the league. Tby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotereggae I vote yes. And Nick Foles is my case study. But there are others. Point being Rodgers deal is way out of line. I would not pay Goff that money. Look how many games Manning, Brady, Rogers, Montana, Young, Warner have won. Yes every once in a while there is a Foles or an Earl Morrall ore even a Keenem but they are rare. Anyway even mediocre starters get paid great look at Cousiby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
He would only be getting bad advice if they didn't get a deal done. His agents used the season starting as leverage and both sides had pressure to get a deal done. I thought it would be a high guarantee and I think the Rams probably started out at around 20m while AD agent was at 25m It took them some time to get to the deal that is to be expected. Always thought there was a deal to gby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I doubt I would have cared by now. At some point AD would want to win and that is not possible with Fisher Now if Fisher had hired Martz and let Martz do his thing I think we could have won. Then AD would have stayed.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Wow it is a done deal. 6 years 135m with 87m guaranteed We have him for 7 more years.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I always felt that the biggest pressure point in negotiations would be the regular season opener. There was a deal to get done that made sense for both sides. AD had to much risk not to sign a deal and no extra reward It will be nice not to have to go through this again. You know AD is in tip top shape Everyone will claim victory.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I love the prediction I think 2 losses max is certainly possible. I think we will be one of the best teams in NFL I think we win the division I do not think we will have more than 4 losses. While I think 2 losses is optimistic it would seem to be in in the ball park considering how I see the team.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Not going to carry 3 QB's Smart seems like a long shot May not or probably not going to carry 4 RB's Somehow Hodge needs to get a spot.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com

QuoteRams43 QuoteRFIP Here we go. Yepteams around the league are clamoring for the opportunity to grab Luis Perez and put him on their 53 man roster! Just when you thought this PS couldn't get more bizarre... Does it seem so bizarre that a QB starved team might snatch a promising young QB off the Rams practice squad? So, maybe McVay wants Perez to not look so promising, you know? Justby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I wonder if Snead is drafting better without Fishers help.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Cooper is probably going to make the team but not playing well is the issue. Maybe he has a hangover from screwing up in the playoffs.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Okay my mistake. Thanks for postingby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
All I can say is wow. I found it hard to really argue with the logic of any of the choices. Great read. If AD doesn't report that will open a spot. I am still letting the depth at safety sink in. Thanks again.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
That is a great post with lots of good insights. I still think that what is missing is that AD is going to lose money by not signing a deal. The Rams have more leverage than is outlined and cane make the cost to AD even more costly than stated. For that reason I think a deal will get done as AD is shooting himself in the foot by not compromising.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I like you write up but they seemed to have an execution problem when they signed Tree to that big contract. Austin is another screw up and never showed to be a core player. I do agree that they are picking the young core and paying fair market value for those players. Demoff may be getting more help on who to sign.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Hav's is okay and it is a reasonable price. This front office has made some deals I am a bit surprised that they did these deals before the AD got done. It will be really interesting to see how all the numbers fit together once AD deal is done if it gets done. It seems like our front office is doing a really good job not just for this season but for seasons to come. Not sure what heby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com

First I agree that Mannion doesn't look good and really never has. I am confident that he does know the offense and would look better with the first team offense and a real game plan. I really hope we don't have to see him play this year except for mop up work in blowouts.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRockRam I don't believe for a second that Donald will ever sign long term with the Rams. And while the Rams are saying all the right things, I don't believe they do either. If Donald is truly dumb enough to not play this year, and forfeit nearly $7mil, then there's not a doubt in mind that no matter what deal he signs, he'll never honor it. In 2 years he'll be right back at the table, holdby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
OBO is on the PUP and they can just keep him on that list. He would have to sit out a minimum of 6 weeks.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Hope AD is here in time. McVay sure has not shown his cards during the pre season. McVay is always dreaming up new things and now has a year of experience as a HC and with this personnel. I expect Goff to take a huge leap Supporting cast is better with Cooks. Higbee, Kupp & Everett all should improve with experience. OLine can jell from the start of the season. Quotejemach why would Donald come in and play for $6 million and risk injury? All the money Donald "could have had" is water under the bridge. Donald can only look at the money in front of him. Does he come in and risk injury for $6 million or hold out, maybe most of the year and then look to next year. I still am of the belief a deal will be done. If Donald is not on this teby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
They are in the same zip code and they are talking. Seems like a deal will get done. No bad blood on either side. I thought about 2 weeks when I first saw the Zip code statement. AD probably is chomping on the bit to come to camp Rams chomping on bit to get him here Agent probably squeezing Rams on every single clause in the contract. Another week or so I would guess butby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
This is great news as we are going to need some of your young guys to step up and play next year. Hav, Brown and Safford are all FA next year and with all the big contracts we may not be able resign any of them. Seems like we need to hit on at least 2 of of our OL draft picks. Getting a potential starting LT in the 3rd round would be a big find not that Snead should get any credit.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
