I think they, and others, are moving away from 'home' computers even for video editing. Almost every single recent upgrade for video editing has been designed for phones, pads, not laptops and desktops. BUT..

You're right, for professionals desktops will remain a product BUT... we're talking only very high end. Ten's of thousands of dollars for the computer, another few thousand for the monitor(s). And I'm talking the not so distant future here... not today. - JamesJM
