Yes, that certainly is a factor. I used to belong to the Lions Club and each meeting we had BBQ'd steaks. We had a small BBQ grill so we BBQ's half the steaks first then the 2nd half.
One guy demanded that we start with his steak and then leave it on the BBQ until we had finished both the 1st round of steaks and the 2nd..... first on the BBQ and last off. It had to be burnt to a crisp before he'd eat it.
BBQ'ing is an art... all cooking is. I do not possess the talent. It is well known around the area 'who' can and 'who' cannot and for all social functions where BBQ'ing is required the chef's apron goes to only a few select individuals. - JamesJM
