I'm on a stand by list for cancellations to get in earlier. I have an appointment with my Primary this Thursday. Gonna ask if SHE can order Labs for any intestinal stuff. I bet she can and just forward that to my Gastro Doc.
My opinion: If it was me, I wouldn't do that. A gastroenterologist is a specialist in that field. Your primary care doc is not. There are certain things the GI doc may want to look for in certain tests that your primary doctor may not be aware of. Wait and see how the GI doc wants to handle your case and let HIM order the tests that he wants. Don't have your primary doc try to second guess or jump the gun at this point. I know you're impatient and want to get things moving but ... just wait.
