well , we made it past round 2 with a 28-12 win

I mentioned earlier this week , I knew nothing about the team we were playing , other then they were ranked 5th in the state , and 10-0

now I kind of under stand why I knew nothing about them

Iowa's current playoff system started in 1971 , for 50 of those year , the team we played had never once even made the playoffs , not once

I read a little snippet , the last time they had a unbeated season was 1968 , those kids are now in their 70's , and they said there would be about a half dozen of those players from 1968 , in the stands tonight , and they were at their pep rally last night as well

so , now , I kinda feel sorry for them now , but thats just crazy , not once in 50 years even just making the playoffs , seems pretty unreal for me

they haven't annouced offically who we'll play next week , but as the field narrows , I have a pretty good idea , and our season will come to a end next week , as I'm pretty sure we'll be playing the number 1 team in the state , who is just steam rolling over everybody

we'll try to convince ourself , you know , it could happen

but , no , we have no chance , the team they beat tonight , is one of those teams we tied for first place with in our district ,, well , tonight that team lost 42-16

and I'm guessing thats how bad we'll lose to them next week
