Not sure if I ever mentioned this. Ashton's Dad, my son--in-law, has been in the hospital for nearly a month. He's "OK"... he had to have part of his instestine's and Bowel removed and unfortunately he had complications... infection! Today my daughter reports he is doing well, white blood cell count is down... could be home in a day or two.... but I bring that up only to mention....
He has missed the last 3 games of his oldest son, Varsity, and his youngest son youth football. And.... Murphy is always right... those 'may' have been their best games of the year. And not just that.... Friday was Ashton's "Senior Night"... that's when parents join their sons on the field... are introduced and given flowers. They do the same for the cheerleaders.
Yup, I filmed it for him.. but it's not the same as being there and walking out with your son. So Ashton chose his cousins... my two oldest grandson's, to fill in for him.... as well as his sister, (the little girl I have posted many times in the cheerleading outfit). BUT... his brother, Elijah... couldn't walk with Ashton because he's currently sick and couldn't risk exposing the Varsity players too whatever he has... he's the Varsity Ball Boy.
When it rains it pours, huh?
Again, all is well..but even if home he probably won't make the next game BUT.. he probably will be able to attend the playoffs.... both Varsity and Youth Football.... we've worked out an arrangement with the HS... they are going to allow us to drive onto the football field grounds and park near the field IF, (BIG IF), we get a home game... if it's an away game, Varsity or Youth, we've got a problem..... but being the resourceful person I am I'll probably work something out.
