Yeah, been to San Diego about this time of year..

when we went Great White Diving, and I stuck my toe in the water in San Diego and it was COLD... but nothing like the water at Guadalupe Island which was FREEZING even with a 7mm wetsuit on.. Still, considering how cold the water is in California, no surprise that Great Whites hang out there..
