but I don't know if, when I play emotional, that I have any abilities I don't have otherwise.. I'm not that good a musician lol When I play with more emotion, I'm generally more energetic than anything - especially onstage..
I DO think if you're really INOT the song and really FEELING it, which could be associated with emotion for the song, you can play harder, or maybe fast, like you say.. I tend to get very violent with how I play - really hitting the strings hard and, of course, breaking them here and there.. If I'm emotionally into the song I don't care if I'm tearing up the guitar finish with jewelry or whatnot.. I don't necessarily care about my own health or anything I do onstage - if I'm in the moment..
I need to find that balance in my actual playing with "feeling", along with playing more violently.. I need to play more emotional solos and stuff, but I tend to do much better with violent playing than slower, more emotional "feeling".. In other words, I'm a much better "brick" than a "flower"..
Friendship is like peeing your pants.. Everybody can see it, but only you can feel the warmth..
