I bought it when it first became available because some members of my family LOVED the first one and I wanted to invite them over for a fun evening of snacks and beverages and a good movie. So it was a long wait having stayed in the theaters for a LONG time..... long for these days that is.
Before I say what I thought of the movie allow me to agree you with that it's a movie that should have been seen in a movie theater... I admit that. But I've got a large screen, full surround sound stereo... and a more comfortable chair than in a movie theater so while NOT the best - it ain't bad.
Ok, my review... why can't they make more movies like this? I love, love, loved it. Fun, exciting, thrilling, and I was even surprised a few times while very aware of where things were headed. This will be a movie I watch many times.... only once so far but no doubt 2 or 3 times before the end of the year... and after? It will be on my watch list forevermore.
If I was forced to complain about anything it would be in regards to character development... could, should, have been more... but that's such a minor complaint it's really not worth mentioning, even though I'm doing so.
Top Gun is my son-in-law's all time favorite movie so as we were watching, (he had seen it in the theaters, unable to wait), he was on pins and needles hoping I'd approve.... I made his day.
Lot of clever one liners in the dialog so I'm sure on a second viewing I'll catch more than I did this first viewing.
Top Gun is Top Notch... two thumbs up.... and I hope Hollywood is paying attention. - JamesJM
