First - full confession. My family loves Disneyland. We are those annoying type of people that ‘feel the magic’ and fully believe their motto of “The Happiest Place On Earth”.
That left more than a few of you shaking your head, no?
That said… some, perhaps many, of the complaints I’ve read here and elsewhere regarding Disneyland are on point. Most notably the expensive. It is exorbitant. Just as an example… Park Fare, (outrageous), no longer gets you onto all the rides… some require further payment once in the park. The list of annoyances is large… BUT…
Other than that last paragraph I ain’t going there with this post.
It was my first time on the new Star Wars Land rides. I was impressed… but then, I always am. I’m still in awe of some of the original rides from 1955.. like Peter Pan, Jungle Cruise. And of course, always good to visit my Mom and Dad, (RIP), who loved most the Tiki Room.
The trip was exhausting - made more so because my daughter Venetia, in the photo below, is without question the world’s best Disneyland fan and if you’re visiting with her prepare to run… and that from the room to the park then throughout the day from ride to ride and attraction to attraction. Drove home yesterday, traffic was hell, and today I’m convalescing.
In the photo: Left to right top row… Galli, (Mason’s girlfriend), Mason, Brigida my youngest daughter, Wade her husband, Brian (Venetia’s husband), Sydney my only granddaughter and the reason we were at Disneyland to watch her dance competition, she won), Goofy (but you probably knew that), Venetia my oldest daughter, Ashton my grandson, Gavin my grandson, and kneeling Elijah my youngest grandson and Naylea Gavin’s girlfriend.
We started a new family tradition this year... we bought a "Grumpy" hat and the person currently the most grumpy has to wear it until someone gets grumpier and then a small ceremony takes place as the Grumpy Hat changes heads. No one is wearing the hat in this photo because this was taken on arrival at the hotel - before the grumpiness began.
