In the x-ray, the anomaly was in the middle of the femur bone.. ACL would be in a joint - like the knee.. I have NO idea how one Vet sees it as bone cancer and another sees it as an ACL rupture.. ACL rupture DOES sound more like what happened.. Mauie was running through the house, yipped and went immediately lame in her back left leg.. To me, that sounds like blowing an ACL..
Several days earlier she was limping on that same leg.. Mauie has Lyme's Disease and would actually go lame on one leg maybe once or twice a year.. treatment is antibiotics and prednisone.. As soon as she went lame, we gave her antibiotics left over from her previous bout with Lyme's.. She IMMEDIATELY cleared up and was walking fine.. that's text book Lyme's Disease.. lame, antibiotics, fine in a matter of hours..
You keep giving antibiotics for 3-4 weeks.. after a week, she was running through the house, yipped and went immediately lame.. x-ray shows bone cancer, but second opinion thinks ACL rupture.. She will have a Cranial Drawer test this Friday to rule it out.. but, if its bone cancer, it gives it more time to spread.. We are totally at a loss to understand what is actually going on.. but had we amputated her leg and it wasn't bone cancer, I'd be looking to kick some Vet's a$$..
