A sudden thought of my best friend can punch me in the gut. Where I sit now...To my right, on the wall, is a photo of he and I at the Baseball Grounds in Jacksonville before the Florida / FSU Baseball game, back in 2009. He was my best friend from the time I was 5 and he was 3. He was not just a Social Media friend. He'd pick up the phone to say Merry Christmas or simply...HELLO. In fact.....When I got the word he had passed on 19 June 2012, the day before, I had erased a message from him on my answering machine from the 17th. He had called to simply say Happy Father's Day. To this day, it hurts for me to see a Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp game (AAA to the Marlins) We used to go allllll the time to see the prior Jacksonville Suns and sit in the right field bleachers. Funny how my other friends are always quick to bring up that Jack was often drunk....acted silly.....had issues etc etc. But HE was always the TRUE friend. My "NORMAL" friends don't count life unless it's on Facebook.
