....what is the name of your cousin's book?
I find the Joaquin Murrieta legend interesting. Depending on who you listen to Murrieta ranges from mostly legend to having never really existed. I would be interested to know what your cousin believes.
I also thought it was kinda cool how hollywood merged the legend of Joaquin Murrieta with the Antonio Banderas movie The Mask of Zorro. From the head in the jar to the character Three Fingered Jack. My dad referred to him as Juan Tres Dedos (same name in spanish).
Anyways, I'm no history buff, but these legends of old do catch my interest from time to time...
