I think I did. But anyway.... our lead guitar player is moving away... been our lead guitar player since about 1996. He's moving to Texas at the end of the year.

We have two gigs lined up before then... a grand opening - we were supposed to play at a local bar last year and the night before we were to play it burned down. They're been rebuilding and want us to play for their grand opening. Also... my niece's wedding, we're playing for it... AND SO....

My nieces wedding will be the end of another era in bands for me. However, we're already considering -

Back in 1973 two cousins and I began, a trio. "The Mountain Oysters".... I've written about that. We are thinking, "Hey, return to our roots... maybe the Mountain Oysters should rise from the ashes". These two cousins are in this current band going defunct.

It would be almost entirely country and western, which is ok with me. I'm too old and out of shape for hard rock 6 hour long gigs anymore. laughing smiley I would prefer, MUCH prefer, doing old pop hits from the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's... but no access to a lead guitar player. And also... the 'crowds' we'd get with a simple C&W trio are my kind of people. laughing smiley

So, looks like a new era for me is about to begin. Should be much easier... won't require nearly the setup we use in this current band. Definitely less money but then... being a musician you know this.. money is never the issue. If I wanted to 'make' money I wouldn't play in a band at all, it costs me a fortune. laughing smiley

Ugh! I saw a clip of Phil Collins today. I don't see him being around too much longer.
