Yesterday I watched the two-part episode "Remember Me" starring Patricia Neal in season 2. I was full-blown snot crying through most of part 1 and then again at the end of part 2. The story was about a dying widowed mother trying to find a home for her three children. It was a heart-wrencher. By the way, Patricia Neal played the part of Olivia Walton in the pilot episode of The Waltons called The Homecoming: A Christmas Story. But she suffered a serious stroke while she was pregnant and they weren't sure her health could withstand the grueling schedule that came with filming a series. So they found a different actress... Michael Learned to play the part in the tv series..
