My first 6-7 years were AWESOME! Was in the station in the neighborhood I grew up in. Had an AWESOME crew. LOVED IT! THEN.....Comes an Engineer on the Engine ( I was a Firefighter on a Tiller Ladder) This guy did NOTHING but stir the pot and caused a MAJOR MAJOR divide within the station. To the point of guys almost coming to blows. I hate to say this but I honestly wish my Lt had just punched this guy in the mouth. HE NEEDED IT! And I rarely have ever said that. The whole shift became toxic. This guy was in good with Batallion Chiefs and other Officers. He NEVER did anything negative to me but tried his best to lure me in his foolishness. When I promoted to Engineer (Driver), I got sent (I'm sure with "encouragement" by this A Hole to Higher Ups) to THE busiest Engine Company in the City Of Jacksonville. We got our heads kicked in every day and night (Nights were brutal) BUUUT.....I was with nothing but AWESOME people. It was almost....FUN?? I hear that guy has changed but I will never trust him. He's a snake in the grass. There was all that......and a few years later when we had a Department Chief that drove morale into the ground.
