Mostly it's teased with... and also everyone nearly always prefers the disaster most likely to hit them as the least worrisome. But I wonder what the true worst disaster, natural disaster, is to face?
I think odds-wise the safest would be Tornados... NOT because they are safer if you're hit by one but only because they effect such a smaller area compared to hurricanes, earthquakes, tidal waves.
I think the safest to survive if actually hit by one are earthquakes. Unless you're under something that can fall on you what can happen? Nausea? So if I lived among skyscrapers I wouldn't say earthquakes.... but then... no natural disaster would be very safe if you're skyscraper country.
