I hate seeing people from my childhood passing away at such a fast rate. Was just thinking about this as I, right now, watch Andy Griffith and seeing Thelma Lou. What is even worse, as a cynic of "modern entertainment", I see very few to zero replacements. Crap...I look at my all time favorite, Star Trek. Walter Koenig (Checov) was supposed to be the kid of the cast. He is in his mid 80s now??? I often watch Little House On The Prairie with my Wife. Just about every adult from that show has passed. I think back to being a kid in the 1970s. There was ALWAYS some sort of Special or Comedy Hour show on that would have guest spots for soooo many of the Actors / Actresses from back in the day. These days we have shows with very little talent.
I miss the old Variety shows like Sonny & Cher, Andy Williams, Carol Burnett and the Dean Martin Show. I always loved those. They were full of music performances and comedy skits... and they were always fun to watch for me. I guess the closest we have nowadays is late night shows like The Tonight Show but it's just not the same. Those are "talk" shows. I liked the format of those old variety shows better.
