Crappy starting pitching, lack of depth (Kiki and Joc), Kershaw, Muncy, and now Turner all out, Bauer (their best pitcher in the league) suspended before playoffs, Leagues hitting champion stopped hitting, Seeger (either a HR or K) Turner before injury lost in post season, etc.

I suspect any of those things let alone all would be a great help for any opposing team-red hot or not.
