It didn't help that losing Clayton, Cody, and Corey for a large chunk of the year. Also, when a team loses 4 starting pitchers, their prospects diminish for sure. Even with many factors working against them, including the above, they still won 106 games. The biggest problem was the Giants won 107. I think that constantly having to chase the Giants for months on end, plus the extended 5 game series against the Giants, cost them both physically and mentally.

I'm still scratching my head as to why Roberts/Friedman are so set on using the starting pitchers out of the bullpen in the playoffs, when they only have 3 of them. The bullpen was rock solid, for most all of the year, but apparently the org didn't trust them when it counted most. Kinda puzzling to me...

  Bauer is a self absorbed brat and a head case. Dodgers won / played well without him.
