I do walks every morning and just 3 days ago, saw a large Possum that had been hit. I could tell it was recent. It bothered me that it probably would just lay there. The next day, I did not see it. This morning, I smelled it. Someone had at least slung it off the road but it was just laying, half eaten by buzzards or something. I found it to be a bummer. Years ago, I was told that I should have worked in a Vet's office. I told them HELL NO!! I would not do well around animals that have to be put down, their heartbroken owners and then TRY to put on a happy face for the next visitors. I find that funny because I did the EXACT same thing as a Firefighter for 35 and a half years. Some might call it weird or sick or whatever....But I have more compassion for animals than I do people, for the most part.
