That is some outstanding countryside there.. I'm definitely getting the mini - just trying to figure out how I'm gonna do it without a cell phone.. I do have an iPad I can use for the camera monitor, but I'm a little bit afraid on possibly not having GPS since I don't have a cell account.. But, the maker told me i can fly without a cell account, so maybe the GPS is built into the drone? Not sure..
But, I'm definitely getting one - if anything, just to shoot deserted beaches we hit while diving.. that would, alone, be worth having one for.. Last time we were in Bora Bora in 2016 our next door neighbor had one, and while I wanted to beat him with a stick for flying it in Bora Bora, I was pretty blown away with the footage he shot... Was gonna post one, but he's only got them on facebook..
you can fly without iPhone , but you will have a heck of time trying to fly blind....just break down and join the 21st century and get a smart phone already lol
having the phone and app are key elements to flying safely and making movies.
