that if they get out of range, or get behind a building and lose line of sight, that they'll automatically return to "home base" so to speak.. when you fire the mini up, it hovers about 4 feet high and sets its "home" GPS coordinates.. BUT.. if it gets behind a building and returns home, it will choose a direct line from its location to home base, so if there is a building between you, it'll crash right into it..
SO.. my friend told me you program a "height" into it on every flight.. you estimate the highest obstacle in your area and choose a height that is higher than that obstacle. .when it auto returns home (it also has an automatic return home button) the first thing it does is go to the height you programmed, THEN it goes home, so hopefully not running into anything...
