But in all those years she worked to get where she is, she knew what the rules were, regardless of how goofy they might be.. I agree that, considering in several states pot is legal, its probably an outdated rule, but its still in the books.. NFL players get busted for it all the time and face suspensions, as well as world class athletes in other sports.. Heck, in some states people probably still lose their freedom if busted enough times for it..
I'm the last guy on Earth to complain about somebody's appearance.. I'm all in when it comes to being yourself and looking how you want.. But, if I fail a pot test, at work, I'll lose my job.. I KNOW that, so that, in itself is one heck of a deterrent to smoking pot.. Plus I've just never wanted to.. a whole lot of people would lose a lot more than an opportunity to compete in sports, if they get popped for smoking pot.. Until those goofy rules are done away with, I agree with everyone who says she should be punished for knowingly breaking the written rules..
Its unfortunate, but it is what it is.. I'm kind of actually glad they didn't make an exception for her, because hypocrisy, right now, is at an all-time high.. I also, as I have said, believe the flag disrespecting athlete should be cut from the team.. go compete for another country.. its sad that probably what drives her, is to get on a podium to publicly show her disgust for her country..
Friendship is like peeing your pants.. Everybody can see it, but only you can feel the warmth..
