If they are buried in their cell phones, then I don't bother them. I figure they're buried because they don't want to engage which is a shame. They're missing out, in my opinion. I look for people who probably ARE receptive and open to conversing. By the way, the old lady at the auto shop... her cell phone rang while I was talking to her, and she pulled it out... glanced at it to see who was calling, then immediately turned down the volume and put the phone back in her purse. I thought that was pretty telling.
