Other than injuries do you have any explanations? Personally, I have a few. The loss of Farhan Zaidi was crucial. He more than Friedman was responsible for putting together the team that ended up in last year's world series-albeit a much shortened season. I also think that when the Dodgers had injuries they, last year, and before, had much stronger depth-such as Verdugo, Kiki, Pedersen, etc. The depth right now belongs in the minors to continue learning.
The other is what my wife says is too controversial and I should keep my mouth shut. But she's asleep so here goes: I look around the majors and I see a huge influx of players from Central America that all came from difficult circumstances that likely made them tough against hardship. The Dodgers are the whitist team in the majors. After winning the world series-are they now too soft?
Or is it simply this ? Injuries.
