Not unexpected. Can only last for 7 days unless players union agrees for extension. From a PR perspective I would be surprised if they didn't. However, I doubt the DA will advance any charges. Too difficult to get an entire jury to believe beyond a reasonable doubt there was an assault. This is likely to end up in Civil Court for damages where the standard is merely a preponderance of evidence. (51-49) Nevertheless, as far as the Dodgers go, this could easily hurt them badly. The fact are sleezy-IMO-enough to cause a real rift in the clubhouse. Can you imagine the dinner conversations between Kershaw and his wife or for that matter Oral Hershiser and his? How about Scully's thoughts?
No matter what happens this does not bode well for the Dodgers.
