That made sleeping sound more difficult. As a Firefighter, I could sit in my gear, half asleep, in the back of the cab, till we got on scene. As Engineer / Driver, when the tone goes off, I BETTER be totally awake from the get go. I have to go from crashed out to remembering where a street is in seconds and then driving expediciously. I have always said it's the intangibles that make the job so stressful.
