The Creek fire is the one raising hell in our area. Burned about 170,000 acres so far with less than 10 percent containment. One of the areas spared was an area managed by Southern Calif Edison, one of the two major utility companies in the state.
Why? Because they periodically clear brush near their installations.
To be fair management hasn't been made any easier by the number of dead trees caused by a bark beetle, which was exacerbated by drought conditions.
