Little background: 1969 was a flood year for us, (farmers). WE had land on the old Kings River... long blocked off but ran full during flood years, (same as today). That year my cousin and I were given the job of patrolling the river bank during nights looking for leaks. If we spotted a leak, before it became a break, I would hop on the dozer and dig down to the leak then refill, packing tight as I went, then hopping back in the pickup, with my cousin, and a spotlight, and continue scouting the levee. My cousin and I loved this job.
We always had an ample supply of weed on hand as we began our shift. Just my cousin and I, driving a levee in the middle of nowhere, bright stars, and dreaming large... the famous rock stars we were to become, the beautiful groupies falling at our feet.
And then - there was the music. From 1969 - and no, don't EVEN think I just 'remembered this list'.. I used Wikipedia.
Hot Fun In The Summertime, Everyday People - Sly and Family Stone
Aquarius - the 5th Dimension
Hair - the Cowsills
Grazing In the Grass - Friends of Distinction
Sweet Caroline - Neil Diamond
Easy To Be Hard - Three Dog Night
Time Of The Season - The Zombies
You've Made Me So Very Happy - Blood, Sweat, and Tears.
Touch Me - The Doors
Galveston - Glen Campbell (since he's in another thread)
Gitarzan - Ray Stevens... hey, don't even TRY to tell you didn't like Ray Stevens.
That's The Way Love Is - Marvin Gaye
Game People Play - Joe South
Hooked On A Feeling - B.J. Thomas
Everybody's Talking - Harry Nilsson
These Eyes - The Guess Who
Get Together - The Youngbloods
For 21Dog - Honky Tonk Women - The Rolling Stones (one of the few Stones songs I really liked)
And then these two... same group. Had to choose a couple YouTubes so I picked these, could of been any of the above or even others not listed.
