One of the best lines from the movie "The Blues Brothers" is when Elwood informs Jake that while Jake was in prison he traded the 'bluesmobile' for a microphone... to which Jakes pauses, considers, and says something like "Yeah, ok, I can understand that".
Soooooo... all this talk about dampeners.... I've been trying to master this for my entire life. Due to this thread I did a YouTube search about it and found a very good video explaining and comparing all the different dampener systems out there.... I watched it, studiously, made a decision, bought one that I had never tried, (I have tried most).
Now here is the interesting thing about this... currently I'm playing my electronics, (and my new Cajon), exclusively... and I have no intention, nor room, to set up my acoustics anytime soon. Dampeners, like I just bought, are for acoustics... they have nothing to do with electronics. Nothing. Zip. Nada. So why in the hell did I buy a new dampener system?
I don't know. that's why. I saw it, I liked it, I won't be using it anytime soon if ever... I bought it. and that makes PERFECT sense to me... as I think it will to you Joe, you Steve, and you Randy.
