"Just pointing out that Fauci’s goal is single minded and that is to reduce direct Covid deaths to the irreducible minimum. No matter WHAT the other costs may be.
If you’re okay with that policy, fine. I’m not. I much prefer a more nuanced strategy."
If I go to a doctor who diagnoses me with a potentially deadly disease that will require possibly long term care to keep me alive, I wouldn't expect him to advise me on how I might pay my mortgage without my job, etc. Their concern is my heath, period. And the risks of allowing it to go unchecked. So I can take their advice or not.
In this pandemic if I fail to heed the advice, I now put several people in the same potential situation. I have the right to make my own choices for myself and my family but I do not have the right to force those choices upon anyone else. Fauci is trying to keep people alive as you noted but I would not expect or even particularly want his advice on my financial well-being. We are all dealing with the unknown and nobody is an expert, they can only speculate how it may turn out.
