Just finished episode 7 and I can't hold it in any longer.
Now first... I really like Longmire. Like a lot. However.... this is a collection of the most manically depressed, skeletons in the closet repressed, group of misfits in the history of film.
And all of them, ALL of them, including the lead characters, congregated in a one horse town in Wyoming. The Bates Motel had ONE... this town in Wyoming is a lunatic asylum. Or rather... the most congested collection of unstable humans on planet earth.
Seriously.. there isn't ONE character that isn't repressing inner demons and carrying a multitude of deep dark secrets. Hell, even the town drunks wax philosophic about the fallen grace of mankind.
Not sure I'm right about this next... but I think it was episode 6 before I saw Longmire smile... and even that smile was a bit cynical. These are tormented souls. If Dante were still alive he'd have to add another layer of hell.
And almost certainly none of the above is going to stop me from continuing to watch..... BUT... I do think I'm going to need to break up the sullen woebegone malaise somewhat... like maybe 3 episodes of the 3 Stooges between each Longmire episode.
