My Brother was a huuuuge Star Trek fan too. I remember Star Trek The Motion Picture came out when I was on Christmas Break while in 7th grade. I still vividly remember going with my Brother in his old 1975 Datsun pickup truck. We waited for about 3 and a half hours in the Orange Park Mall. When the movie opened up with the very cool shot of the three Klingon cruisers entering the cloud, we were beaming with excitement. What a VERY cool start!! Other than seeing the Enterprise in space dock for the first time, we thought the movie was a bore. At the time, we had no idea that Decker was the Son of Matt Decker...from our VERY favorite episode "Doomsday Machine". The movie just druuuuuuuuuuuug out. BUT.....with time, we seemed to appreciate it more. I miss and think of my Brother very often.
