will ever figure out a way to provide power to Voyager with 'new tech' that can somehow work with the archaic equipment currently onboard.

MORE likely, I think, is a revolutionary new form of propulsion that will allow us to overtake Voyager and retrieve it for posterity sake. I believe it's currently traveling at somewhere around 38,000 mph away from the sun? Hell of a big spread between 38,000 mph and Light Speed... which we can't reach... but even at a million MPH, WAY under light speed, we could catch it somewhat quickly.

So far the fastest spacecraft we ever launched reached a speed of .0002 the speed of light. So its going to take some kind of major breakthrough in our under standing of physics before we are able to leave our solar system. Rocket propulsion hasn't really changed much in the last 80 years, we're still filling a tube with something combustible and lighting one end. smiling smiley
