"Media" ? I know the media is the favorite whipping boy for some. But in this case the information in terms of the seriousness and prevention is directly from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) a United States Federal Agency under the auspices of the Department of Health and Human Services. If you don't want to take it seriously fine but consider those around you. You might also consider going to the CDC website to learn how much different this is than the common flu.
