with Wrathchild.. in the 80's they got into a dispute over the name Wrathchild with an American band by the same name.. Wrathchild UK had the name first, but it took something like 3 years of litigation with the end result being Wrathchild in England would go by Wrathchild UK, Wrathchild in the USA would be known as Wrathchild America.. Wrathchild UK was on the verge of making it super big, but through the court battle, was not allowed to function under the name Wrathchild for 3 years.. once legislation was over, they got back to work, but the momentum was gone and they never recovered, even tho they put out two more LPs..
They broke up, went their separate ways until about ten years ago when I did the tribute site for them.. that kind of sparked the band, who came out of retirement and who then reformed with a different guitarist and, unfortunately, not with original singe Rocky Shades and boy was he pissed..
So that version became known as Psychowrath, but eventually said screw it and went under the name Wrathchild, again.. Rocky formed his own band and both bands existed at the same time.. After a few years, Wrathchild broke up and Rocky renamed his band Rocky Shade's Wrathchild, or RSW..
So, Lance, the original guitarist, never came out of retirement and owns his own guitar shop.. his wife Tracy and drummer Eddie Starr's wife Robin are good friends, so they keep in contact.. Bass player Stanley Wood disappeared but resurfaced long enough to sign my poster.. Drummer Eddie Starr is a tile layer and currently not playing, Original singer Rocky Shades is a postman, but still performing as Rocky Shade's Wrathchild with an entirely new group of guys..
They don't really hang together, but will occasionally get together and do a song or two together at shows.. Robin told me Rocky was coming to visit them which is how they got his signature..
Speaking of which.. what I did was: I'm facebook friends with all of them.. I talk to Rocky all the time and Robin almost every day. I sent a group pm to Rocky, Robin, Tracy, and Stanley (I knew the wives would be more reliable as far as getting stuff signed) and everyone but Stanley agreed to sign it.. Stanley didn't ever reply, so Rocky made a snide comment about him in the group pm - saying Stanley lived in a commune on a mountain somewhere.. So, Stanley never replied to the pm, but a few days later posted a photo of him and his wife drinking wine on facebook with a caption of something like, "Obviously not living in a commune on a mountain. What is wrong with you people?".. lol... anyways, a former roadie took the poster to Stanley to sign and he did.. so, all 4 have signed and should be good to go..
Rocky and Eddie are on good terms, Rocky and Lance are on good terms and Eddie and Lance are on good terms, but apparently nobody is on good terms with Stanley lol
