I guess f you grow up with the scratches and blips, it just feels normal to have them.. I know I've made videos for the band to run on projector screen behind us, and put interference lines and scratches and stuff - even the old film melting trick (the trick is using green screen footage) and all.. its just classic..
Ok, to answer your question.. I dunno if Jaws is truly a horror flick.. I kind of think its more action adventure tense and stuff.. If you look at it that way, my favorite horror flick would be:
The Descent..
Its very well-made, tons of scary, freak you out stuff, and its one of the very FEW movies I've left the theater feeling extremely happy that I saw it.. Its got some blood, now, but its extremely well-made, in my opinion,,
So, lets go on, shall we? When I was about 6 I saw a horror movie that just freaked the plumb crap out of me.. and now that I watch it (because I have it on blu ray and DVD)I have NO idea why..
The Horror of Party Beach..
Take a nuclear waste spill and create the funniest looking monsters imaginable, throw in beach babes, beach bands (you will love them, Jimmy) and some super bad effects and you get a VERY cool movie.. Now, you hafta be careful, tho.. there is a longer and shorter version.. the longer version has all the bloody scenes in it (its black and white, so black blood) and is MUCH better.. I have both.. I think the difference is 7 minutes, or so.. On the theater posters they actually MADE you sign a waiver in case you died from fright.. or laughing..
I also REALLY like one set of the remakes of:
Texas Chainsaw Massacre and ESPECIALLY The Texas Chainsaw Massacre The Beginning in 2006:
You talk about what I call a "splatterific" movie.. Didn't dig the original very much.. didn't dig any of the other remakes, but REALLY thought these two remakes were done well.. Its just a splatterific good time..
Friendship is like peeing your pants.. Everybody can see it, but only you can feel the warmth..
