When I retired from farming I slowly, very gradually, stopped wearing boots.... choosing sneakers, at first, then transitioning into low top hikers, occasionally high top hikers... and this I did during my 'retired' years... but then:
While out working, (and wearing my newly adopted choice for footwear- heavy duty hikers), It occurred to me I could use a pair of boots. I still had a pair but when I went to put them on I found the years had done their evil deed and they were falling apart... soooo, new boots....
So finally getting to my point... remember, all my life I wore boots while farming... now it had been quite a few years. My new boots arrived and I put them on.. it was 'bliss'... instantly... like I had returned home. Since - I wear them almost daily. If they looked good while wearing boxer shorts I'd probably be wearing them in the house when evening has arrived and I don my sleep attire. - JamesJM
