The parochial schools have it way over the public schools. It used to be the other way around. When I went to high school -in south central L.A.- we had the top athletes in all major sports in our league. (Dorsey, Manual Arts, Jefferson, Fremont, L.A. High, etc) Then it became legal for the Catholic schools to recruit the top athletes out of south central without worry re residency. Public schools in So Cal simply cannot compete with their residency requirements.
