That B-25 was still there, in front of the hanger, last time I was there.... maybe 10 years ago. Not sure about today.
I flew into Eagles field a few times... solo... but I don't think it was 'legal' to do so then.
First time was in the late 60's and at that time there were some pretty severe potholes on the runway you HAD to avoid... they patched those I believe in the mid 70's. I believe the last time I landed there was in the late 70's... but maybe it was in the 80's.
I'm sure you know this - Eagles Field was one of the major prisons for captured German soldiers. I remember reading a few stories, (a VERY long time ago), about a few escapes... but I have no idea if those stories were true or just legend.
