research to realize that the ocean's temperature is rising consistently and faster than at any time in our reported history. Same with the level of the ocean. Both of these factors play a huge part in not only the frequency of our storms but their intensity. It's no longer even a debate that this is "natural". It has man's footprint all over it.
We have an interesting thing going on here in So Cal. Our beaches are eroding faster than ever before because the level of the sea is continuing to rise. This means that those homes that are either on the beach or on a cliff over the water are in peril. Our officials have tried to legislate the replacement of these homes to similar homes but farther back from the shores. But money speaks louder than care for the future and these owners have been able to successfully fight off these proposals. I can see some of that if one didn't have any children or grandchildren or concerns about the future for others.
