Thr first was, I don't know how long ago, and it was done at our local hopsital. Very regimented by the staff....they sucked by the way. The first set was just to get the base line numbers and then if necessary (dictated by bad numbers) the follow up with the mask. I am a side sleeper but I can fall asleep on my back. The base line studey wasn't much of a problem. I fell asleep, got up when they came in....no issues other than...."Mr. Miller, you need to stay on your back"...I wanted to tell her to shut the heck up. I was good. The follow up with the mask was worst, I couldn't sleep at all because of the way the mask fit,,,,arggg I was very angry with the tech cause she wouldn't do anything about it. At one point she said I would just have to sleep....I DID respond with, "Why didn't I f***ing think of that". No christmas cards from her.
The second stude was at a pulminary specialist and was FRIKKIN AWESOME. They only had me come in for the baseline. I told them of the problems I had at the hopsital and they said, "Go to sleep how you need to, you'll get into position and be there loong enough for us to get our numbers". Outcome of that study, I fell asleep in less than 5 minutes and they HAD to wake me up. Doc said I was good.
The last one was at another specialist just last year. Both sessions went well and when I went for the second session with the mask, they prescribed me a sleep aid. The night I slept with the mask went really well, I slept through the night no issues.
That third testing lead to my use of a mask, the one shown below, it is comfortable but at times needs a slight adjustment. I sleep on my side and back with it no problems. I have worn it wevery day since I got it, I am alomost afraid to sleep without it. weird
