of that, Waterfield.... never the less.... I was holding my breath during every play of that game.... it's the first like it I have ever witnessed.
I'm seen blowouts, lots of them... but usually the kids losing are at least comparable in size... just lesser in a talent, across the board. That's not what occurred yesterday... their starting RB was no bigger than my youngest grandson... 3 levels below Sr. level, and had less speed and talent... he was getting crushed. If it had been Elijah, my youngest, I would have pulled him from the game.
It made me wonder... if I was the coach... kid's have a right to play... that's a given... but is there a point when concern for your player's safety might not call for forfeit... or perhaps some capitulation.... ala "Look, we can't compete.... we forfeit the Win but if you'd play your 3rd stingers we'd love to play anyway".
And sure... I know how unrealistic that is.... but it did cross my mind. - JamesJM
