is stronger than I thought it was. Roosevelt took it to us tonight... total domination, (possession time), in the first half. We couldn't get anything done... I doubt if we had 10 total yds in the first half.
We were trying to run... it just wasn't working. Late in the 2nd we tried to pass but my grandson threw an Int almost immediately... I think he had one completion and one int. in the entire first half. -2yds, I believe.
He finished the game 15 of 24 and 142yds. He fought back. The game went into OT....
On 4th and 15 Roosevelt broke a run up the middle and scored, AND kicked the PAT. Kerman's turn:
I think it was a 3rd down from about the 19 Gavin hit his WR for the TD.... 1pt behind. You ever just KNOW something based on nothing tangible? I KNEW we were not going to even attempt the kick... (and this even though our PAT record this year is excellent). Gavin takes the snap from under center... pitched back to IJ sweeping left... who hands off to Trace reversing back right... who then lobs the ball... worst looking pass ever.... into the waiting hands of Gavin for the 2pt conversion and the Victory. And this was our HOMECOMING game.
Can't begin to express how great it was to see the pileup in the end zone after the win... I know every one of those boys, known them since they began playing Mighty Mite football when they were 7. After the game I walked onto the field and every one of them came up and gave me hug. Very, very smelly... but I didn't mind at all.
