I must have been able to time travel in the 50's and 60's. Seriously... here's why -
There were many regular TV shows I did not watch regularly.. but I saw nearly ALL of them. How did I do that? There were 3 channels... NBC, ABC, CBS.... How did I manage to see ALL those shows when they were up against each other in time slot?
And to make it even more amazing... there really wasn't much in the way of reruns, and many of those old shows didn't even go into syndication until LONG after they had gone off the air AND - I didn't watch many old TV shows in syndication.
This is no where near a 'complete' list... it's just off the top of my head... but the only TV Shows I almost did not miss were:
Bonanza
The Mickey Mouse Club
Mission Impossible
Maverick
Have Gun Will Travel
Wide World of Sports
Disney - (in all it's manifestations)
And to finish this: While I didn't see them all, not even close I don't think... I remember "LOVING" Kung Fu... with Carradine. I recently watched 3 episodes of Kung Fu and HATED them. After the 1st one thought, "well, I just chose badly"..... after the 2nd one I thought, "Ok, bad luck, chose two bad ones in a row.... not likely but not impossible either).... after the 3rd one I thought, "Wow, this sucks and I'm never watching another episode".
Sorry to you Kung Fu fans... I DID love it, back in the day. - JamesJM
